I was outside hanging out the washing on a very cold morning. I also happened to be wearing fingerless gloves which leave your fingers free, making it easier for me to use the pegs to hang it out. My four-year-old grandson, who was watching from the doorway, suddenly called out, “Nana, your gloves have lost their fingers!”
