I made a bit of a blooper recently when I did my supermarket shopping online. Instead of buying a week’s worth of grapefruit, I accidentally ordered more like a month! Now I have grapefruit coming out of my ears. Any ideas for what else to do with it?
I’d suggest branching out and trying a few different things. It’s beautiful paired with avocados in salads, or mixed with balsamic vinegar to glaze salmon. And you can store it in the freezer. Peel and separate into sections, remove the membrane and seeds, then pop in a container. In a saucepan, mix two cups of water and 1¼ cups of sugar. Mix until the solution is clear and bring to the boil. Once it’s cold, pour over the grapefruit and seal your container. It should keep for up to a year in the freezer.
