Simon Gault – Chinese food when on a diet

Whats a healthy choice when the family wants Chinese for dinner?

What’s a good choice for me when we take the family out for a Chinese meal? I’m on a diet in anticipation of my sister’s wedding in January and I’ve done so well so far, I don’t want to ruin it with a kilojoule-packed dish.

Chinese is some of the easiest restaurant food for those on a diet to contend with. Start by filling up with a clear soup. Sesame chicken with plain steamed rice is a suitable choice for a main, while beef, prawns and scallops are also good. Just steer away from things breaded or battered and you’ll be fine.
