We reveal how to get the stars’ enviable physiques. This week: Actress January Jones’ legs.
As the new season of Mad Men begins, January Jones, who plays Betty Draper, reappears on our screens with perfectly svelte legs. January (34) is a fan of hula hooping, yoga and Pilates. But since giving birth to her son Xander in September, exercise has taken a back seat. “I’ve been running around and nursing. That’s exercise enough,” she says.
Try this: Leg-lifts work the muscles in the hips, lower legs, thighs and bottom. Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart.
Contract your abdominal muscles and flatten your lower back. Lift the left leg up and clasp your hands behind the thigh. Draw the knee toward your chest. Lift your hips off the floor.
Push your right heel downwards for stability, and don’t push your hips too high as this arches the lower back. Slowly lower yourself back down.
Repeat eight to 12 times on each leg.
