Kevin Milne: 2-in-1 shampoo & conditioner

Has the 2-in-1 concept gone out of favour?

I used to always buy 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner for my boys. They like to be in and out of the shower as fast as possible. It used to be easy to find in the supermarket but now I have trouble. Has the 2-in-1 concept gone out of favour or are they called something else now?

My research suggests that 2-in-1 has not been found to damage hair, but it has been recommended that if your sons regularly use a 2-in-1 product, they should also periodically wash their hair with an individual shampoo and conditioner.

As for difficulty finding a 2-in-1 in the supermarket, this may be because many aren’t labelled as such any longer. I read that many shampoos use the same technology, but are labelled “moisturising”, “hydrating”, or “volumising”. Don’t take

my word for this though. Talk to your chemist and have them recommend something.
