While winter might be in full swing for us here in New Zealand, there’s an entirely different kind of season on the horizon this month; season two of The Summer I Turned Pretty, that is.
The TV adaptation of Jenny Han’s novel of the same name has returned to Prime Video for another season, but this time there’s murky waters lurking in this summer romance.
While season one was all about Belly (Lola Tung) coming into her own while exploring new relationships, season two is about figuring out once and for all where her heart truly lies.
We have all the details on where, when, and how to watch and what to expect from season two of The Summer I Turned Pretty, available to stream now on Prime Video.
What is season two of The Summer I Turned Pretty about?
While Belly used to count down the days until she could return to Cousins Beach, she’s not sure summer will ever be the same with brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) fighting over her heart.
Adding to that is the arrival of an unexpected visitor trying to sell their beloved beach house, as well as the return of Susannah’s (Rachel Blanchard) cancer that casts a dark cloud over season two.
Staying on par with the novels, the second season seemingly follows the events that occur in the second book, It’s Not Summer Without You, with a few surprises added in the mix. Fans are desperate to know one thing; does Belly end up with Conrad or Jeremiah?
While the answer can be found in the third novel, We’ll Always Have Summer, there’s still a chance the series will throw fans a curveball with an entirely different ending if it returns for a third season.
Who is in the cast of The Summer I Turned Pretty?
The Summer I Turned Pretty stars Lola Tung as Isabel ‘Belly’ Conklin, Christopher Briney as Conrad Fisher, and Gavin Casalegno as Conrad’s brother Jeremiah Fisher.
Joining them are Jackie Chung as Belly’s mother Laurel Park, Rachel Blanchard as Conrad and Jeremiah’s mother Susannah Fisher, and Sean Kaufman as Belly’s brother Steven Conklin.
David Iacono and Nyna Rain also return this season as ‘Cam’ Cameron and Taylor Jewel, respectively, along with season newbies Elsie Fisher and Kyra Sedgwick.
