What is the plot of Only Murders in the Building?
As a quick recap (or overview for those who haven’t seen the show before), Only Murders in the Building follows three strangers (Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez) who live in the same apartment complex building in New York City: the Arconia. The trio come from diverse backgrounds but find a common interest in their love for true-crime podcasts.
They suddenly find themselves wrapped up in a crime of their own when a death occurs inside their apartment building. After managing to crack the case of Tim Kono’s killing in season one, the dynamic trio spend the second season debunking what happened to Bunny Folger, all while becoming the lead suspects in the case.
What happens in season 4 of Only Murders in the Building?
The fourth instalment of Only Murders in the Building was released on Disney+ on August 27, and saw the trio of main characters abandon New York City and head to California instead.
Wrestling with the shocking events at the end of season three surrounding the death of Charles’ stunt double & friend Sazz Pataki, our motley trio’s investigation leads them all the way to the West Coast, where a Hollywood studio is readying a film about the Only Murders podcast. The current fourth season is the starriest yet, with series regulars Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez all reprising their roles, Meryl Streep returning and Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, Molly Shannon and Kumail Nanjiani all making appearances.
Will there be a season 5 of Only Murders in the Building?
In happy news for fans, Disney+ has confirmed the Emmy-award-winning series has been renewed for a fifth season, consisting of 10 episodes. No word yet on when shooting will start, but given new episodes of season 4 are dropping weekly, it will hopefully be in the coming months.
