Armed with quick wit and sharp tongue The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has been delighting fans for six years, with the fifth and final season to air this year.
Set in the late 1950s and early 1960s, the series follows Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a New York housewife who after her husband leaves her for his assistant, discovers that she has a talent for stand-up comedy. With the help of her manager, Susie Myerson, she starts performing in clubs around New York City, struggling to balance her newfound passion with her responsibilities as a mother and daughter.

Following the events of season four where Midge puts herself at odds with her friends and family in pursuit of success before having an epiphany in front of The Gordon Ford Show’s snowy billboard, Midge is ready to “go forward” and fight for her ascent to stardom. In the final season, Midge finds herself closer than ever to the success she’s dreamed of, only to discover that closer than ever is still so far away.
Who is starring in the final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel?
The award-winning show sees Rachel Brosnahan return for a final time as Midge Maisel, alongside Tony Shalhoub and Marin Hinkle who star as Midge’s parents Abe and Rose. Alex Borstein will return as Midge’s manager and friend Susie Myerson, with many of the larger ensemble returning as well, including Michael Zegen as Midge’s ex-husband Joel Maisel, Kevin Pollack as Joel’s father Moishe and Caroline Aaron as Joel’s mother Shirley.

Some new characters from season four are returning with a larger role like Reid Scott as talk show host Gordon Ford, Alfie Fuller as Susie Myerson’s receptionist Dinah Rutledge and Jason Ralph as Mike Carr.
Other characters returning for a guest spot in the final season also include Milo Ventimiglia as unnamed handsome man Midge spends the night with, and matchmaker and Rose’s rival Benedetta played by Kelly Bishop.
Luke Kirby will return as the legendary comedian Lenny Bruce, who in the show serves as Midge’s friend, mentor and love interest, though the role his character will play remains to be seen as the characters ended season four in an argument and Kirby’s character wasn’t seen in the trailer.
