The latest MAFS heartbreakers are Sara and Ben

This week, Sara breaks Tim's heart and Ben moves on from Ellie

The latest developments from this year’s Married at First Sight Australia show Sara breaking Tim’s heart and paint Ben as the next villain. Read on to find out more.

Sara breaks Tim’s heart

With his wife Sara under fire, Tim’s next move is unexpected.

At this week’s dinner party, Colombian-born bride Sara Mesa is forced to defend herself against those rounding on her for allegedly cheating on her husband Tim Calwell with an ex. But in an unexpected twist, he has her back.

“We were surprisingly united,” tells the Gold Coast businessman, 31. “A week ago, there was no way I’d be in the same room. Now I’m defending my relationship with her – it was very challenging.”

But just how much damage have the allegations caused the relationship?

“When I found out, it was heartbreaking,” Tim says. “If you slow-motion the conversation, you can pinpoint the exact moment my heart shatters.”

Sydney nutritionist Sara, 29, continues to deny anything happened with her ex, calling it an innocent “run-in” on a night out. But the group “wanted answers”, Tim says. “They’d seen how she’d been treating me and didn’t understand how we were going to move forward.”

Adding that some telltale signs have made him doubt Sara, Tim continues, “I don’t think I’ll ever know the full truth. But I do think the weekend with her ex was premeditated and why she was reluctant to show me her phone.”

Will Tim write stay or leave at this week’s commitment ceremony? All he’ll say is, “I wasn’t coping. I wasn’t seeing a feminine, caring or nurturing side of Sara. I wasn’t feeling very masculine in the relationship. It was like she wanted exactly the same guy as her ex, but in a different body.” Stay tuned!

Ben feuds with Guy…

Shots have been fired between the stars!

MAFS groom Ben Walters has found himself in the crosshairs of one of Australia’s biggest names in music, Guy Sebastian, after the pair exchanged barbs on social media over their musical ability.

It all went down after Guy, 42, poked fun at Ben, 39, in the comments section of a recent interview. “I’m disappointed you guys didn’t talk about his incredible songwriting skills,” the Battle Scars singer quipped sarcastically underneath the story, referring to a cringe-inducing ballad Ben wrote to apologise to his Kiwi bride Ellie Dix, 32.

Lyrics included the clunky line, “I’ve been unaware of my f**ked-up behaviours until you pointed them out on that couch and I just wanted to say thanks.”

Awkwardly, Ben replied to Guy, posting, “We have one thing in common – we both aren’t making the charts!” The Australian Idol winner’s last single to make Aussie’s top 100 was Believer, which hit number 69 in 2021. Ouch!

… & moves on from Ellie!

C’mon Aileen! Ben and his new girl look smitten.

After the implosion of his on-screen marriage, Ben appears to have already moved on, with the tour guide spotted cosying up to a new girlfriend – a German woman named Aileen.

Ben is said to have met the gorgeous blonde, 33, in his hometown of Newcastle and they’ve reportedly been together for a couple of months.

The news comes weeks after Taranaki-born, Gold Coast-based nurse Ellie was seen frolicking in the sea with MAFS groom Jonathan McCullough, 39, who was originally paired with Lauren Dunn, 32.

Married At First Sight Australia screens 7pm Sunday to Wednesday on Three.
