The two women took to the stage together for today’s star-studded VMAs event, putting their war of words firmly behind them as they teamed up for a performance of Nicki’s hit ‘The Night Is Still Young’.
The duo’s cosy onstage appearance comes just one month after Nicki took to Twitter to protest her ‘Anaconda’ video being snubbed for Video of the Year. Taylor immediately jumped into the fray, accusing Nicki of taking a jab at her own video for ‘Bad Blood’.
“I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other,” she wrote in a direct response to Nicki.
In turn, Nicki replied that she hadn’t been aiming her comments at Taylor at all but rather at the wider issue of how the music industry treated black women.
Later, Taylor apologised for her hasty reply and said she “misunderstood” the situation.
“I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I’m sorry, Nicki,” she wrote.
It looks like all that ‘Bad Blood’ is behind them now! Check out the performance below:
