Going bust

Dear Wendyl, I have enormous breasts and I hate them. They are heavy and give me backache and my bra straps have worn grooves into my shoulders over the years. I want to get breast reduction surgery and have enough money saved, but my husband says he loves my boobs and won’t let me do it. How can I make him see that although he finds my breasts beautiful, I find them a curse? I’m tempted to go ahead and have the operation anyway. What would you do? Sarah, email

Dear Sarah, Do you think it is acceptable to be regarded simply as a sex object by your husband? I doubt it so why would you take what he has to say seriously? Go for it, look after yourself. And while you’re at it, suggest he gets a penis enlargement. objectively, though (I’m always at pains to be objective when it comes to men), he may be worried that you are having the operation because you don’t like yourself. So he’s telling you he loves your boobs to try to make you feel better, but without really thinking about the reasons why you want the operation. If you think this is the case, then include him as much as you can in your medical visits and help him understand your problem from a clinical rather than visual angle. All the best!Wendyl
