Dear Wendyl, I have just met the perfect man after being single for five years. We are both in our early fifties and I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up living together really soon. My problem is that he looks great, has a terrific personality and we share a lot of the same interests – except when it comes to music. I’m pretty tolerant but I’ve just about heard all the Billy Joel I need to for one lifetime. I haven’t said anything to him because it seems so petty. Have you got any ideas for a way I can gently take a break from Billy? Sue, Auckland

Dear Sue, I do understand your worry that complaining about Piano oan even once might be too much and he’s likely to turn around and play Just The Way You Are in reply! I suggest you make a list of all the things you love about him and put that one negative in a column next to it – you might find you can put up with his music For The Longest Time. That’s what I did with my husband’s Lou Reed obsession, and I quite like listening to some of his music now. Good luck and have a happy romance.Wendyl
