Labour leader Chris Hipkins has shared on his Instagram page that he is engaged to his partner Toni!
In his post, the former prime minister reveals he “didn’t win powerball over the weekend but I did hit the jackpot”.
Speaking to New Zealand Women’s Weekly earlier this year, he gave some rare personal insight into his life, sharing, “We have time together and time apart, and we’ve found ways to make that work. It’s really special to be able to have a mix of times. Times when we’re all together, times when it’s just the two of us and times when we’re doing separate things. It’s important in a relationship that you have those spaces.”
After thanking Toni on the last election night during his concession speech, the mention caused a flurry of rumours before he confirmed it was “Toni with an i”. A firm believer of boundaries in his personal life, he confirmed in 2023 that Toni and her children spent the summer with him and his kids.
