I am going to a gala dinner next month and because I’ll be leaving straight from work, I’m wondering how to sort my make-up. It needs to take me from day to evening without too much time or fuss.

The idea is to do your make-up as normal – perhaps adding your foundation to a base make-up and setting it with powder. This should keep everything in place well. Keep your usual natural look for eyes and lips during the day, then at show time add extra eyeliner and a darker-coloured lipstick. You could also jazz up your eyes with a glittery eyeshadow.
