If you’ve had the same hair straightener since your high school years (no judgment – we’ve all been there), or your ends are dry and lacklustre, consider this your sign to upgrade.

Between 18 February and 18 March 2026, ghd’s popular Styler Trade-In initiative returns for a limited time, allowing you to trade in any brand of hair straightener and get $150 off a new ghd chronos or chronos max styler in black or white.

Beyond the $150 saving, the programme encourages responsible recycling. ghd has partnered with e-waste specialist The Doc Shop to ensure every returned tool is recycled or disposed of, keeping unnecessary waste out of landfill.

For shinier, sleeker hair, keep reading to find out which ghd chronos model suits you best and how to trade in your current straightener.

Chronos Hair Straightener (26mm plate) in black or white

$509 at ghd

If you want smooth, shiny hair in just one pass, the ghd chronos is a great choice for any hair type.

The chronos keeps a steady styling temperature of 185ºC for lasting results without using too much heat. Its gloss-coated ceramic plates help reduce frizz and prevent breakage.

If you want one tool that does it all, this straightener’s rounded, easy-to-hold shape makes it simple to switch between straightening, curling, or making soft waves.

Chronos Max Wide Plate Hair Straightener (43mm plate) in black or white

$529 at ghd

If you have long, thick, textured, curly, or frizzy hair, the chronos max is a great fit. Its extra-wide 43mm plate covers more hair at once, so you spend less time styling and still get smooth, shiny results.

Like the original chronos, it keeps a steady styling temperature of 185ºC, helping your hair stay healthy and hold its style.
