**DOUBLE DUTY

**Revlon Colorstay 16 Hour Eyeshadow in Precocious $31.95

Why it’s good: It offers either a neutral or coloured look.

How to wear it: Sweep the lighter highlighter shade over the lid and up to the brow bone then use the darker shade on the lid. Or after the first steps, use the lighter purple as an accent on the eye’s outer corners. Apply the darker purple in the crease.

**SUIT-ANYONE SHADES

**Almay Intense i-Color $26.50

Why it’s good: A very subtle shimmer to brighten eyes rather than using glitter. It’s designed for green eyes, but the shades are versatile so anyone can try these colours.

How to wear it: Apply the bottom shade all over the lid, blend the centre shade into the crease and sweep the top shade onto the brow bone to highlight.

**SMOKY EYE

**Designer Brands Eyeshadow Quad in Truly Madly Deeply $12.99

Why it’s good: All you need to create a classic smoky eye in one palette.

How to wear it: Use the lighter shade as a base, the mid grey on the lid and the darker shimmery grey in the crease. Then wet a brush and apply the dark, matte grey as an eyeliner

**SHIMMER

**Maybelline NY Eyeshadow Quad in Taupe Temptress $15.99

Why it’s good: Fun, shimmery shades at a fantastic price.

How to wear it: Apply one of the berry shades over the lid and a little of the dark lilac in the crease of the eye. Then use a sheer wash of the white above it as a highlighter.

**EYE BRIGHTENER

**Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Eyeshadow Duo in Classic Khaki $69

Why it’s good: Lasting, vitamin-enriched colour in a formula that’s been designed to brighten and lift the look of eyes.

How to wear it: Sweep the golden shade over the entire lid and into the crease of the eye to create a base. Then, using a short, slanted brush, use the khaki shade to line the upper lashes, blending the line slightly, and also brush the khaki over the lower lashes.

**EYE TIPS

If you wear glasses:** Keep eyeshadow minimal. Dust a light neutral shade on the lids, line the top lash line and use mascara on the top lashes only.

If your lids are crepey: Steer clear of shimmery colour and go for soft mattes and satins instead.

If your lids are droopy: Line right round the eye with a dark powder shadow. The upper line should be thicker and both should meet at the outer corner of the eye
