When I’m very busy, my beauty routine tends not to go much beyond the basics. Fortunately, you can go a long way with a reliable eyeshadow technique. So this week is all about doing the basics better with some great expert tips.
Eyeshadow basics
Priming lids with an eyeshadow base will help keep your shadow smooth and crease-free.
Apply the lightest colour in your palette, sweeping it across your lid and up to the browbone.
Use a medium colour across your lid only.
If you have time, you can build on this with a darker colour in the crease. Be sure to blend the colours well.
Dark shadows also work well as eyeliners. Wet a slanted brush, dip it in eyeshadow and line as close to your upper lashes as possible from the inner to the outer corner of the eye. on the lower lashes, only line from the middle of the eye out. If you have close-set eyes, don’t go right into the inner corner of the eye with dark shadows. If you have rounder eyes, apply darker shadow more thickly in the centre, both above and below the eye.
