Celeb Style

Calista Flockhart’s hot new haircut has given the actress a fresh edge.

If you’re tempted to steal her style, Louise Pilkington of Auckland’s Dry & Tea salons has some advice.

IT’S VERSATILE: This textured, layered haircut is great for any hair type. It will sit a little flatter with fine hair, but the layers will give it texture and bounce, while those with curly locks will get great body. The soft, sexy shape would suit most women – it will give long faces more width, due to the texture on the sides, and round faces more height.

IT’S EASY: A cut like this is very low maintenance. The less you wash it the easier it is to style, as unwashed hair adds texture and body. So don’t be afraid to get dirty. A dry shampoo such as L’Oréal Professionnel tecni.art fresh dust $33 will add that touch of fresh texture.

What you need: Nicky recommends using the Pureology Pure Volume Shampoo $36 and Conditioner $42, as well as the Pure Volume Instant Levitation Mist $42 before blow-drying.
