Beauty buzz: pawpaw ointment

The healing powers of papaw have made remedies formulated from the fruit hugely popular. Fermented papaw is the potent ingredient you’re looking for – the powdered stuff used in some products isn’t as effective. You’ll find it in the cult classic Lucas’ Papaw Ointment $11.50 (1), which has been around since the 1960s and is still made to the original recipe.

But if you’re a natural skincare user, there is a new treatment worth trying. Phytocare Pure Papaya Ointment $11.50 (2) is free from chemicals and synthetic jellies and has a soothing base of calendula, as well as the all-important fermented papaw.
