What is the Little Mermaid about?
Following the story of Princess Ariel, a mermaid with a thirst for adventure, The Little Mermaid takes audiences on a magical journey beneath the waves. As the youngest and most defiant of King Triton’s daughters, Ariel longs to explore the world beyond the sea. Her curiosity leads her to the surface, where she falls for the dashing Prince Eric.
Despite her father’s strict ban on interacting with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land but ultimately places her life — and her father’s crown — in jeopardy.

The film stars singer and actress Halle Bailey (Grown-ish) as Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King (A Dog’s Way Home) as the charming Prince Eric, and Tony Award winner Daveed Diggs (Hamilton) as the voice of the hilarious Sebastian.
