MKR team Hannah and Lawrence’s reality TV regret

The former Big Brother housemate spills the beans

Having appeared on Big Brother in 2020 and having recently filmed MKR Australia, Hannah Campbell has absolutely no doubt which one she’d rather do again.

“I thought if I can do Big Brother, being locked in a house with randoms, I could do MKR,” the reality star confesses. “But MKR was 1000 times harder. I would do Big Brother every single year if I could. MKR? I don’t think I’d go back and do that!”

Hannah and her boyfriend Lawrence Murphy, an actor and filmmaker who has appeared in The Twelve and The Claremont Murders, have been dating for almost two years.

“I have kissed lots of frogs,” Hannah laughs. “But they all led to my Prince Charming!”

The Perth couple is keen to marry. They’ve also agreed to start trying for a baby in just under a year.

“We’ve got to wait until I’m 32 and then pop goes the weasel!” Hannah grins. “Because I love babies.”

Lawrence’s mother died when he was just two years old. For much of his younger years, his family struggled with coping at shared meals and celebrations.

“You’re constantly thinking about the person who’s missing,” he explains.

But after meeting Hannah, food became a more important part of Lawrence’s life.

Lawrence has promised to propose if they win.

“I’ve realised how food, family and love all comes together so completely.”

In the first round of MKR’s instant restaurants, Hannah sparked drama by sharing something said behind one team’s back – and some very interesting news about another contestant.

“I’m the table gossiper,” she admits. “I just don’t know when to keep quiet and shut my mouth.”

But Lawrence insists his girlfriend is “actually the most truthful, honest person you’ll meet”. He adds, “I think it took the MKR cast some time to adjust to the ball of energy and honesty that is Hannah!”

MKR Australia screens 7.30pm Mondays and Tuesdays, and 7pm Sundays on TVNZ 2, streaming on TVNZ+.
