Cyrell Paule and Eden Dally are no strangers to reality TV – she appeared on Married At First Sight in 2019 and he was a contestant on Love Island in 2018, but The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition marks the first time they’ve been on one together – and it isn’t always smooth sailing!
“We definitely argue,” admits Cyrell, 35. “Only because we both like to be the alpha.”
The fiery Filipina earned the nickname “Cyclone Cyrell” on season six of MAFS – where she famously emptied a glass of red wine over rival Martha Kalifatidis – and she says we’ll see more of her outspoken side on The Amazing Race.
“A little bit of cyclone comes out, but you see more of it with Eden,” laughs Cyrell. “Cyclone will always be a part of me – if I haven’t changed at the age of 35, I don’t think I ever will.”

Aside from trying to win $100,000 for children’s charity Bravehearts, the couple had other motivations for joining The Amazing Race.
Eden, 32, has been a fan of the show for years. “I applied for it before Love Island, but I didn’t get through,” he reveals.
Cyrell quips, “I just went on to see [show host and former NRL star] Beau Ryan!”

However, the couple got a reality check when they realised how tough the show was.
“It’s so much harder than it looks,” says Cyrell. “They had to bleep out our language a few times because we were like, ‘Eff this – I give up!’”
The pair also had to leave their five-year-old son Boston during filming.
“That was hard because both of us were leaving him for the first time,” recalls Cyrell. “But we left him with my parents, so they would have spoiled him.”

“Also, we could do with a little break!” laughs Eden.
While the couple has been together since 2019, Cyrell warns we shouldn’t expect to hear wedding bells any time soon.
“We feel like we’re married already,” she says. “We live together and, right now, are focused on being good parents – and maybe giving Boston a sibling!”
The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition screens 7pm Sundays on TVNZ 2 and streams on TVNZ+.
