The career on the racetrack that first gained his fame is going full speed ahead, but skill behind the wheel is not the only talent Kiwi motor racing sensation Liam Lawson possesses.
The 22-year-old family man from Pukekohe can also belt out a tune, judging by a video he posted of himself recently.
The clip shows Liam – who also plays the guitar – his brother Marcos and several friends in a recording studio, and features what appears to be an original song. It teases, “Full songs coming soon.”
A career in the music industry could be another option for multi-talented Liam. But it looks like he’s on track to go on to fulfil his motorsports dream.

A reserve driver for the Red Bull Formula 1 team, recently he was chosen to do a 200-kilometre test drive at the Silverstone Circuit, where the British Grand Prix is raced. Australian Red Bull reserve driver Daniel Ricciardo did the same test last year. He ended up getting a coveted place on the team.
Meanwhile, Liam has another string to his bow – modelling. He’s been selected by outdoor clothing company Kathmandu as the face of a campaign. He’ll be promoting a special version of their puffer jacket.
He’s a perfect fit for the high-performance Epiq SE Down jacket. It’s made of fabric created from recycled waste, including used car tyres.
“I’ve owned a Kathmandu jacket since I was a kid,” tells Liam. “It’s come all over the world with me and feels like a piece of home whenever I see it.”
