Forget the front row at Paris Fashion Week – the real action was apparently happening behind the scenes, with Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz Beckham reportedly reuniting in secret!
Insiders tell Woman’s Day that while Lady Victoria was flat out running her star-studded show, her warring sons – who were in the same city for the first time in months – were busy making moves to quietly reunite behind their mum’s back!
“It seems extraordinary that Brooklyn and Romeo were only 500 metres apart from each other the night before Victoria’s show, but even more stunning are growing rumours that Romeo and Cruz actually did meet with Brooklyn privately later that night,” insists a well-placed source.
“Aside from Brooklyn’s wife Nicola needing to network, the main purpose of their Paris trip was to plan a face-to-face with his brothers, without their parents knowing.”
A reunion with an edge
The reported reason behind their top-secret rendezvous is Brooklyn’s growing concern for his younger siblings.
Our insider says, “He wants to be there for them if they ever decide to distance themselves from the Beckham family machine.”
But that feeling may not be reciprocated – we’re told the vibe of the reunion was less a cosy catch-up and more family showdown.
“Romeo and Cruz have been keen to confront their older brother over his claims about the family,” says our spy.
“It might seem shocking that the boys broke ranks to secretly meet up with their big brother, but they’ve wanted to give him a piece of their mind for a long time now. There’s no way they would’ve missed this chance.”
Protective of their mum
While Romeo, 24, and Cruz, 21, would certainly have listened to what Brooklyn, 27, would have had to say, we’re told they remain fiercely protective of their mother, 52, and would’ve shut down any negativity towards her or dad Sir David, 51.
“Romeo and Cruz are like Victoria’s two guard dogs and they’ve seen first-hand what Brooklyn’s claims did to their mum,” our source adds.
“Victoria knows this, which does ease her worries about this secret meeting slightly – but it still isn’t the way she wanted a family reunion to go down.”
