The best places to book in Sydney and Melbourne ahead of the Eras tour

Were you one of the lucky ones to score a ticket to the most coveted show of 2024? If you’re heading to Australia next February to see Taylor Swift at the Eras tour, you’re going to want to sort your accommodation fast!

Hotels, hostels and Airbnb’s across Sydney and Melbourne have already started booking out, so if you’re on the hunt for where to stay you have come to the right place. This article has everything you need to know to prepare for the February shows.

What dates is Taylor Swift going to Australia?

Taylor Swift will be making her way to Australia (sadly not New Zealand) in February 2024, with shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

On February 16, 17 and 18 she will be taking her long-awaited Eras tour to the iconic Melbourne MCG before heading to Accor Stadium Sydney for February 23, 24, 25 and 26.

Sabrina Carpenter has been announced as the opening act across all the Australian shows.

Where to stay in Melbourne for the Taylor Swift Eras Tour

As Taylor is performing at the iconic MCG, which is located in the city centre, you want to look for hotels and hostels in the same vicinity to avoid too much travel time in between your accommodation and concert. Here are our recommendations:

Sofitel Melbourne on Collins

Located at the Paris-end of Collins Street in the heart of Melbourne CBD is a stunning place to stay if you are visiting the city. Each room has floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views over the city with the highlight overlooking the Yarra River and out to Port Phillip Bay.

The MCG is only 10 minutes away by public transport (enough time to listen to All Too Well (10 Minute Version)(Taylor’s Version)) or a 16 minute walk.

Novotel Melbourne on Collins

For all the shopping lovers, the Novotel is just 300-metres from the iconic Bourke Street Mall. All rooms either overlook the hotel’s spectacular glass atrium or Collins Street below.

It is a 23 minute walk to the MCG or 15 minutes by public transport.

Vibe Hotel

If you want to live it up in Melbourne, the brand-new Vibe Hotel is the place for you. With a 8.8 rating on, it’s super close to Southbank Promenade and Federation Square. The hotel has an indoor pool, room service and free WiFi, bascially everything you need to get ready for Taylor.

The MCG is 15 minutes away by public transport or a 25 minute walk.

Europa Melbourne

If you’re travelling to Melbourne with your girl gang and you want to save cash, booking a hostel may be your best bet. Europe is located 500 meters from Queen Victoria Market and Melbourne Central, making it central to Melbourne city and surrounded by cafes, bars and hotspots. It also offers free continental breakfast (including pancakes!).

You can score private rooms or book a bed in a dorm and enjoy the shared areas.

The MCG is a 35 minute walk or 13 minutes on public transport.

The Savoy Hotel on Little Collins

Treat yourself to some art-deco decor right in the heart of Melbourne city at The Savoy Hotel. With plenty of spacious and luxurious hotel rooms to relax and unwind in, the stay at The Savoy is as much of a delight as the concert will be.

The MCG is 15 minutes away on public transport or a 36 minute walk.

Where to stay in Sydney for the Taylor Swift Eras Tour

Taylor’s Sydney shows will be at the Accor Stadium at Sydney’s Olympic Park, and luckily there is easy-to-navigate public transport that can take you straight from Sydney CBD.

This means there are plenty of places to stay and you aren’t restricted to staying near the concert area.

QT Sydney

Find yourself at one of Sydney’s most aesthetic hotels right in the middle of the city during your trip for the tour. Experience all Sydney has to offer when you’re not dancing your worries away with countless bars, restaurants, cafes and shops just moments away. You can even treat yourself to a pamper session at spaQ to prepare.

Hop on the light rail right outside the hotel to Central Station before taking the train straight to Sydney Olympic Park.

Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney

This award-winning 5-star luxury hotel in the heart of Sydney has it all so you can live it up in style. It’s an easy walk to Circular Quay, The Rocks and Sydney Opera House. The hotel has an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room and day spa, that you may only want to leave to go see Taylor.

Wake Up! Sydney

Considered the best hostel in Sydney in 2020, Wake Up! Sydney has a central location right next to central station. Stay in dorm rooms to save cash or book a deluxe room for some privacy.

The hostel has a range of activities to enjoy when you’re not at the concert including the always busy Side Bar.

Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour

If you want to step away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD, book a room at Novotel Darling Harbour to enjoy waterfront views while still being just a short stroll into the city.

The modern rooms make for a comfortable and easy stay, with multiple culinary experiences to try out in the building alone, not to mention the surrounding area.

West Hotel Sydney, Curio Collection by Hilton

Located within a 5-minute walk from Barangaroo, West Hotel Sydney, Curio Collection by Hilton is a boutique hotel surrounded by a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops.

Enjoy a concert pre-drink at the Solander Bar and delight in the open air garden.
