Will.i.am was the brains behind the Black Eyed Peas operation, but when left to his own devices the DJ’s offerings feel a little less thoughtful.
Made up of bass-heavy dance tracks – many featuring his heavily auto-tuned vocals – this is an album that’s good for getting the party started, but in any other context makes for vapid listening. It’s only on collaborations with Britney Spears on hit single Scream & Shout and cyber-dance track #thatPower, featuring Justin Bieber, that will.i.am comes into his own.
