Bono was rushed to a German hospital earlier this week after damaging his spine but the U2 front man has now been released. However, he must now undergo two months of intensive physiotherapy to ensure full recovery from the injury, which has left him partially paralysed.
on their website, U2 posted a statement saying, “Bono has now been discharged from Ludwig Maximilians-University Hospital in ounich (southern Germany) where he underwent emergency surgery on Friday, following a back injury.”
Bono’s surgeon confirmed, “He was in severe pain with partial paralysis in the lower leg. “Bono is now much better…. The prognosis is excellent but to obtain a sustainable result, he must now enter a period of rehabilitation. This surgery was the only course of treatment for full recovery and to avoid further paralysis.”
Irish rockers U2 also announced yesterday that they are delaying their American tour and will no longer headline the British music festival Glastonbury. Bono is said to be “heartbroken” about delaying the shows.
