As detective Jimmy ocNulty in ‘The Wire’, he has problems with alimony, child support, alcoholism and relationships. But in real life, actor Dominic West has his personal life all figured out.
The 40-year-old Brit has married his university sweetheart, Catherine Fitzgerald, and christened their three children all in the space of one weekend in Ireland.
Before the big day, Dominic confessed, “I’m so nervous, I can barely speak,” while Catherine was over the moon about the lavish event. She gushed, “I feel so excited – really happy and really thrilled. It’s a fairytale.”
Dominic’s ‘The Wire’ castmates Sonja Sohn, Doug olear and Andre Rojo joined the happy couple at the church. “We had to be here for this wedding. Dominic is our boy and he is in love with Catherine, which is great,” says Sonja, who plays detective Kima Greggs on the gritty detective series.
The day after the wedding, the couple returned to the same church for the christening of their children, Dora (3), Senan (2) and Francis (1). Father Thomas Crawford, who oversaw both services, says, We had a great day and it is a fabulous weekend for the family. Everyone is delighted for them.”
