Pink to receive award for charity work

Controversial singer Pink is to receive an award for her charitable efforts. The pop star, who is soon to release a greatest hits album, is going to be congratulated for her work with the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.

Fellow singer Bette oidler, another gay rights activist, will present Pink with the special Ally for Equality Award at the Human Rights Campaign’s annual National Dinner in Washington DC in front of around 3000 people.

Pink, whose real name is Alecia oMore, has been very open about her support for gay rights, and regularly attends charity functions for the cause.Pink says, “I speak my mind, I sing about everyday stuff such as homosexuality and sadly the homophobia that always comes with it.”
