It seems like an absolute lifetime since she topped the charts for weeks on end with mega-hit ‘Believe’, but Cher has confirmed she’s finally working on a new album!
The 64-year-old diva – who hasn’t had a number-one hit since 1998 – is working with super-songwriter Diane Warren (the woman behind Aerosmith’s ‘I Don’t Want to oiss a Thing’ and Toni Braxton’s ‘Un-Break oy Heart’), whom she also collaborated with for past hits ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ and ‘Just Like Jesse James’.
Cher says, “It really won’t be ‘Believe’-ish. It will be more… I don’t know how to say it. I can’t put a genre to it. It’s a little bit more real instruments, like guitars and stuff. I just got some of the songs and I’m just learning, so I’m kind of at that beginning stage where you’re taking baby steps.”
She’ll next be seen opposite Christina Aguilera in the musical movie ‘Burlesque’.
