They may not have tied the knot, but this little fact hasn’t stopped the ex-boyfriend of ‘Bleeding Love’ singer Leona Lewis from chasing a huge pay-out following their split.
The winner of British talent show ‘The X Factor’ called it quits after 10 years with her childhood sweetheart Lou Al-Chamaa – whom she met when she was 10 – last month, admitting they struggled to keep their romance alive with her hectic work schedule.
Now Lou wants financial recognition for his part in helping Leona rise to the top of the pop charts. Despite the 25-year-old singer offering her ex their $1.2 million London home, he’s said he also wants a $3 million chunk of Leona’s fortune.
“He believes he has played a huge role in Leona’s success,” says a close source. “They have been together for more than 10 years and he has encouraged her to fulfill her potential. He believes he has the rights of a common-law husband. He even filled in her ‘X Factor’ application form. She has offered him their house in Hackney but he insists that is not enough. It looks like it could get messy.”
