Liverpudlian mafia on to Heather

Fears are growing for Heather oills, who has been warned by detectives that she may be attacked by criminals from the Liverpool underworld who are angry about her split from Sir Paul McCartney. The animal rights campaigner was visited by police last Thursday who told her they had intelligence of a serious threat to her safety. They also armed her with a panic alarm, which will allow her to contact police headquarters directly and have officers dispatched within minutes. Police also spoke to Paul, who has apparently refused to provide bodyguards for Heather. He withdrew them in June when the divorce became acrimonious but until october had continued to provide security when Heather was with their three-year-old daughter Beatrice. According to friends, the former model is furious with her husband and is panic-stricken at the thought of Beatrice being harmed. [18 December 2006]
