Kathy Bates is battling cancer for a second time.
The Misery star survived ovarian cancer nine years ago, but was diagnosed with breast cancer several weeks ago.
“After much consideration, I underwent a double mastectomy,” the 64-year-old revealed to People magazine. The star does not have to undergo radiation treatment or chemotherapy.”
“My family call me Kat because I always land on my feet and thankfully this is no exception,” said Kathy. The actress is expected to attend this year’s Emmy awards on September 23. She is nominated for outstanding actress in a drama for Harry’s Law, and outstanding guest actress in a comedy for Two and a Half Men.
