Kate Moss mourns Alexander McQueen

His funeral was billed as a family-only affair, but this didn’t stop the A-list celebrities from coming out in force to pay homage to late revolutionary fashion designer Lee Alexander ocQueen.

The funeral, which was held at St Paul’s Church in Knightsbridge, London, was attended by the likes of Alexander’s close friends Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Stella McCartney.

In contrast to the bouquets of white lilies and roses that filled the church, über-model Kate stole the very fashionable funeral show in towering heels and a black fur stole. Heiress Daphne Guinness was also in attendance, wearing a dramatic black cape from Alexander’s 2002 collection.

Found dead in his London apartment at age 40 on 11 February, the eve of his mother’s funeral, Alexander committed suicide by hanging. While a memorial service is planned for his famous friends later this year, a date has not been confirmed. “We are focusing right now on the Paris show, which takes place on 9 March,” explains a spokesperson for Alexander’s label.
