French snub for Oprah

oprah Winfrey was denied entry to the Paris branch of luxury goods store Hermes last week when she dashed in at closing time to buy a watch for pal, Tina Turner. According to one report, staffers rebuffed the star because they didn’t recognize her and because they’d been “having a problem with North Africans lately.”

However, oprah’s friends say they knew exactly who she was.

This treatment understandably came as a shock to someone who recently bought a dozen of the store’s Birkin bags, at $6,500 each. Apparently she’s called Robert Chavez, president of Hermes in America, to inform him that she will no longer be shopping there. of course, she may also choose to share the unpleasant incident with her 22 million-plus viewers.
