This British drama is a hauntingly stark tale about two young boys from impoverished homes who, after being suspended from school, decide to collect stuff for the local scrap dealer. When their boss encourages the boys to take bigger risks for more reward, one last job takes a tragic turn. Although based on a fable by Oscar Wilde, this version is much darker and is hard to recommend, despite its artistic merits. If you’re willing to get past its depressing themes, be prepared and take some tissues!
