Fair-headed Tania thinks she is Maori. She spends her life working the graveyard shift at a petrol station, saving money to take her and her brother Piwakawaka (“fantail” in Maori) to Australia to find their dad. But her brother falls into the wrong crowd, which dampens Tania’s plans. Beautifully acted with strong direction, this gem proves you don’t need a big budget to tell a gripping story. This will surely become a Kiwi classic.
