okay, we admit it – our headline’s a little misleading. But read on: David Hasselhoff’s daughter Hayley (best known for filming her father after he’s had a few too many) is following in Dad’s footsteps. No, not in the drinking stakes. She’s going into showbiz!
The Hoff’s daughter has made her acting debut on a US comedy series called ‘Fat Camp’, in which Hayley (17) plays a curvaceous kid who’s desperate to ditch the extra kilos until she discovers she’s the most desirable woman at her weight-loss retreat.
“Amber is the most determined girl at camp,” says Hayley. “But when she gets to camp, her eyes are opened. The guys start to like her and she doesn’t know how to deal with it because that’s totally new to her.”
Also appearing in the oversized comedy is ‘Hairspray’ star Nikki Blonsky, who stars as a camper who has no desire to lose weight. Performing a raunchy strip tease in a swimsuit, Nikki’s character proclaims, “Everybody wants us to hate our bodies. Well, I refuse to!”
Speaking of the show’s handling of the serious issue of eating disorders, the 21-year-old actress insists, “We deal with them delicately and handle them with care.”
There’s no word on when the show will air in New Zealand, but we can’t wait to see it!
