Richard Gere, who recently caused a public uproar in India by publicly kissing his co-star Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty-has had his court hearing temporarily suspended. India’s Supreme Court decided to postpone the case until it decides on the proper jurisdiction for the case. Richard has already publicly apologised for his behavior but that didn’t sway strong Hindu believers, as they believe that the pair offended India’s traditionally conservative culture. [16 oay 2007]
