Her platinum blonde hairdo is Britney Spears’ trademark, but the Scream & Shout singer debuted her dramatic new chestnut brown hairstyle at Elton John’s annual Academy Awards Viewing Party.
Although it’s not her most dramatic hair change in her career – the singer famously shaved off her hair in 2007 – it was the buzz of the party.
Britney paired her darker look with a Michael Cinco gown, accessorised with de Grisogono jewels and Saint Laurent shoes to give her a sexy, sophisticated look.
Onlookers say Britney kept mostly to herself, posing for photos with Elton and his partner David Furnish, before standing by the stage to watch the guest performer Emeli Sande.
“Britney seemed anxious to see who was going to be the special guest performer,” a partygoer told Us Weekly. “She was smiling and stayed fixated on the stage.”
