Singer Adele’s American fans think she is ”posh”, despite the star confessing to being ”common as muck”.
Although the Someone Like You hitmaker – who hails from Tottenham, north London – thinks she is “common as muck”, people in the US often ask her if she knows British monarch Queen Elizabeth.
“American people think I am posh even though I am really not. They think I have a very British accent, as in, ‘Do you know the queen?’ She says.
“I just laugh at them. In England I am thought of as common as muck.”
The 23-year-old singer accepts the success of her latest album 21 has rocketed her to worldwide fame, but she has devised a trick to stop fans approaching her when she is out with her mother.
