When we heard that actors Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis were putting out a metaphoric ‘Santa do not stop here sign’ on their lawn this Christmas, we thought Mila was practising method-acting for her new film, A Bad Moms Christmas.

But it turns out the couple have made the joint decision not to give their two children Christmas presents this year because, in Mila’s words, they’re determined not to “raise a—holes.”

Yep, because kids who get Christmas presents inevitably grow up to be jerks.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the Black Swan actress, who has two children, Dimitri, 11 months and Wyatt, 3, to her That 70s Show co-star Ashton Kutcher, said: “We’re not gonna raise a–holes. There’s enough a–holes in this world!”

Mila, who moved to America when she was seven-years-old explained that growing up in communist Russia gave her a different view on what Christmas means.

“In Russia, back in the day, it was a very religious holiday, so you don’t celebrate Christmas if you’re not Christian and if you’re not at Mass. So, I being Jewish, was like, ‘Christmas is not for you.'”

While Mila may sound a little Grinchy, she said that she does love the “magical” Christmases in America. But she explained that last Christmas her daughter Wyatt was so unnecessarily spoilt by her grandparents that the couple were inspired to make the new “no presents” rule and suggest they give to charity instead.

“Last year when we celebrated Christmas, Wyatt was two and it was too much. We didn’t give her anything – it was the grandparents. The kid no longer appreciates the one gift. They don’t even know what they’re expecting; they’re just expecting stuff,” she said.

“We’ve told our parents, ‘We’re begging you – if you have to give her something, pick one gift. Otherwise, we’d like to take a charitable donation, to the Children’s Hospital.’ That’s our new tradition.”

Mila said that although celebrating Christmas isn’t something that her family would traditionally do, they have embraced it.

“So as far as tradition goes, my family’s big on any excuse to get the family together and get drunk. Whether it’s Easter, which we’ve now all accepted into our Jewish household, or Christmas, it doesn’t matter. It’s all family time,” she said.

Speaking of family time, Mila also revealed that she and Ashton take the whole family along when they’re working. When Mila started filming A Bad Moms Christmas, the family moved to Atlanta for the duration of filming. And when it comes to family-friendly activities when they’re travelling, Mila says she’s an expert in sussing out kid-friendly activities.

“I can write you a book on kid-friendly activities anywhere in the world. Because that’s what we do. We used to be like, ‘What’s the coolest club?’ and [now] I’m like, ‘Let me tell you about the zoo in Atlanta and the bouncy house.’ There’s not one kid activity that I haven’t done yet with my child!”

While we’re sure the Kutcher-Kunis kiddies have everything they could ever want and need, plus their mum is an expert on planning fun activities, we’ve can’t get Nat King Cole‘s Christmas heartbreaker, ‘The Little Boy That Santa Claus Forgot’ out of our heads.
