Oh ... This is so awkward.

An 18-year-old student has conducted a social experiment to document people’s reactions to being complimented.

Shea Glover set out to capture the moment strangers and friends are told they are beautiful.

“I conducted a social experiment at my high school,” Glover says in her video. “I asked students and teachers to allow me to take their picture for a project – some of them I knew, most of them I did not.

“As I recorded them, I told them the purpose of my project: I’m taking pictures of things I find beautiful.”

In the video, Glover’s fellow students appear embarrassed and surprised at being called beautiful.

“Now you’re making me blush,” one student says.

“This is so awkward,” another student says.

One student covers her face upon hearing the news that Glover considers her beautiful, while another student seems agitated.

“What? I’ll cut you in the face,” she says, before telling Glover to shut up.

Despite their varying reactions, it’s hard to ignore the smiles that prickle from Glover’s subjects’ faces upon being called beautiful.

It’s a lovely reminder of the power of complimenting others, and how much it can make their day.
