Step one: Tear off some steel wool and place in jar. Pour vinegar into jar, about ¾ full, and screw on lid. Let it sit for at least 24 hours.

Step two: The next day, brew two teabags in a separate jar and ‘paint’ the tea onto the pine.
Step three: When the tea is dry, paint the wood with the steeped wool/vinegar solution. You’ll notice a change of colour immediately. When completely dry, wash the timber with clean water to remove the vinegar smell.
Step four: Place the timber on two Ikea drawer stands.
