I get lots of people asking me how to clean the scum off their shower doors. It’s easy – mix 500ml of white vinegar with 500ml of water in a spray bottle. Apply to the shower doors, or anywhere there is soap scum, and leave for five to 10 minutes.
The acidity of the vinegar works against the alkalinity of the soap and it dissolves. Then, simply wipe off and rinse. If there is a lot of build up, use straight vinegar, leave for 10 minutes, then wipe off.
And if some still remains, ask at your hardware store for size “OO” steel wool. It is very fine and works to scrape away the dirt without leaving scratches.
