What are some affordable accessories for a beach-ready look?

Just like your everyday outfit, you can zhuzh up your beach or pool look with some accessories like a fun beach bag, wide-brimmed hat (for added sun protection!) and cover-ups like oversized shirts and sarongs. Bandannas also make a fun addition, especially when mixing and matching colours and prints with swimwear.

How do I care for a swimsuit?

Affordability doesn’t necessarily mean falling apart after one or two uses. Make your swimwear last the distance by caring for it in a way that allows it to keep its shape, colour and stretch for summers to come!

  • Rinse immediately: After swimming, rinse your togs in cold, fresh water as soon as possible. Salt, chlorine, sunscreen and sweat can all break down fabric fibres if left sitting.
  • Hand wash: Use a gentle detergent or one designed for delicates, and avoid harsh soaps or stain removers. A light soak followed by a gentle squeeze (never wring) is ideal.
  • Skip the washing machine (and dryer): Even on a delicate cycle, washing machines can stretch straps and damage elastic. Never tumble dry — heat is swimwear’s worst enemy and will ruin elasticity fast.
  • Dry flat, in the shade: Lay swimwear flat or hang it over a towel to dry. Avoid direct sunlight, which can fade colours and weaken fabric over time.
