One of the most long-winded love stories to grace our television screens has undoubtedly been that of Ted Mosby, who recounted the tale of meeting the love of his life over nine, legend-wait for it-dary (sorry, but we had to) seasons of How I Met Your Mother.
When the show wrapped up in 2014, it’s safe to say there was a McLaren’s sized hole in our hearts. So, when news broke the sitcom was getting the reboot-treatment with a new star-studded spin-off, How I Met Your Father, we were ecstatic.
With Younger star Hilary Duff playing the lead role of Sophie and Sex And The City’s Kim Cattrall also playing Sophie later in life, we were ready for glamourous outfits and outrageous escapades. And we were not disappointed.

What is How I Met Your Father about?
How I Met Your Father follows a similar storyline to that of the original, in that the lead, Sophie, played by both Hilary Duff and Kim Cattrall, recount the tale of meeting the love of their life and navigating their 20s in NYC.
In the official trailer for season one, Sophie can be seen confiding in her friends about her lacklustre love life and the woes of using dating apps before she’s told to repeat an affirmation, saying, “Today is the first chapter of my next great love story”.
We’re getting major Ted (repeat: Major Ted) vibes.
We also see the Kim-Cattrall-grown-up-version of Sophie sitting on an all too familiar couch as she repeats an equally familiar phrase: “This is the story of how I met your father”.

Alongside Hilary Duff and Kim Cattrall, other cast members include Francia Raisa (Leti), Tom Ainsley (Charlie), Suraj Sharma (Sid) and comedian Tien Tran (Ellen).
