So it seems like a natural fit to see the Aussie actress transported back to the ’80s to play a down-on-her-luck housewife-turned-Jane Fonda-esque fitness mogul in Apple TV+’s dark comedy series, Physical. Created by Desperate Housewives‘ Annie Weisman, this is a must-watch show.

What is Physical about?
The dark comedy Physical follows Sheila Rubin, a San Diego mum-of-one with an abrasive inner monologue, a good-for-nothing husband, and a disorder about her self-image.
But one day, Sheila follows a cool-looking woman into an aerobics class and soon she falls in love with the workout style, eventually starting her own business by videotaping and teaching classes.
Although the TV show isn’t based on a true story, it does echo some parts of creator Annie Weisman’s life, including her struggles with eating disorders.
Who is cast in Physical?
Physical features a stellar line-up of talent, with Rose Byrne at the helm. She’s joined by Rory Scovel, Dierdre Friel and Paul Sparks.
Joining the all-star cast for the third and final season is award-winning actress Zooey Deschanel in her return to scripted television.
