The final verdict is in!

With the help of an on-set spy and our bestie Jamie, we reveal which Married At First Sight Australia couples survived the messiest season yet…

Jamie and Dave

Dave and Jamie started out strong, then bombed.

They had a dream run until a sudden change of heart by Dave Hand undid all of their hard work. But despite this – and Jamie Marinos agreeing to go on a “back-up match” date with influencer Tyson Fievez, who didn’t even show up – it appears the couple still head to final vows unified and hopeful.

Jamie and Dave were extremely loved-up during their final vows,” an on-set spy tells us. “Fans will be thrilled to see them walk off into the sunset with one another.”

Jamie, 28, admits, “If you’d asked me during Feedback Week, I would have said, ‘No chance!’ But I wanted to at least give us the opportunity to give it a real go in the outside world.”

However, with rumours that account manager Jamie has already moved on with a Dave lookalike and reports the tattooed tradie himself, 36, is also back on the dating scene, the Melbourne pair’s love story might not go much further than this.

Jamie confesses she was surprised by almost everything that happened at the final vows, saying, “With every single couple except Rhi and Jeff, I felt like I didn’t know what the outcome was going to be. Everyone had been so turbulent and unpredictable in the experiment. We had experienced such a lot of extreme highs and lows.”

Rhi and Jeff

Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels greeted each other like old friends at their wedding – after all, they had dated for more than a month. Their relationship had “fizzled out” but ended on good terms and they were also able to pick up where they left off.

And by the time Homestays Week came to an end, electrician Jeff, 39, had handed account manager Rhi, 34, the key to his real-life apartment, so it’s no surprise when the pair tell Woman’s Day they’d like to get married.

Of her dream wedding destination, Rhi says, “I would just say the Maldives because everyone says it’s so good.”

Jeff adds, “Somewhere in Europe. I’m 40 years old and I still haven’t been to Europe – can you believe that?!”

Meanwhile, Jamie says of the Melbourne lovebirds, “It’s like they got lost on the way to another show or something – they were much too normal to be on MAFS! We all had very real problems and they were just so unproblematic at every single couch session.

“I think anyone would have loved to have had Rhi and Jeff’s situation – just to have such a positive, supportive relationship. It’s good to see that there are healthy men and women out there who are ready to commit to a really positive relationship.”

Carina and Paul

Paul Antoine and Carina Mirabile got off to an awkward start when she recognised her groom from a previous date, asking the show’s producers if there was “another option” for her.

But the digital marketing manager, 31, from a big Italian family and the French-born wellness advisor, 30, stayed together and their feelings grew – until Paul punched a door after Carina casually mentioned she had slept with a famous rapper. Paul sealed his fate by going on a date with his “back-up bride” Hannah Renée, while Carina stayed back at their apartment and folded his underwear.

Although we hear she enters final vows with an open mind and heart, our insider says, “Paul has burnt Carina too many times and she will never trust him again.”

The spy hints at a split, which won’t come to a surprise to those who saw all the leaked Instagram messages showing Paul hitting on a mystery woman last November.

Meanwhile, Jamie says of Carina and Paul, “They definitely had a lot of lows, but you saw them come back very, very united after the homestays. I used to look at them as our two European Barbie dolls.

“They just seemed to be very much in awe of each other. They were very happy to spend all this time wrapped in their own little love bubble, so it was a shame when lows kept coming.”

Jacqui and Ryan

When Ryan Donnelly dropped his Kiwi-born bride Jacqui Burfoot on her head at their wedding reception, you’d think that things could only get better.

But then there was the photo-ranking task – where Ryan, 36, placed his bride Jacqui, 29, fourth – and then Homestays Week, when the former pageant contestant wept (yet again!) after seeing the inside of her husband’s house.

So it’s a surprise to see the Sydney couple at the final vows, which are as explosive as their marriage!

Our spy says, “Only two days before the final vows, the couple was wearing matching outfits and declaring their love, but things take a bit of a turn when Ryan pulls out his own long list of issues.”

Describing their relationship as a “weird connection”, Jamie adds, “They’re just the most unpredictable couple in this experiment – and maybe in history. At their lowest point, when you thought, ‘This relationship’s now definitely done,’ they’d arrive arm in arm.

“At the beginning, everyone would become really frustrated. I kept saying to them, ‘There’s no point because they’re happy. Just sit back and let them be iconic!’”

Jacqui now seems to have found love with Lauren Hall’s ex, golfer Clint Rice, 43, and is flaunting their relationship on social media. She recently posted, “Experts had my perfect match right under their noses and they still couldn’t get it right.”

Beth and Teejay

While both of them agreed to meet their back-up matches, Beth Kelly walked away feeling closer to her husband, while Teejay Halkias, 28, returned feeling undecided – which doesn’t exactly put this couple in a good place as we head toward the final vows.

However, there is a sliver of hope! Woman’s Day hears that Billy Belcher, 31, reportedly asked Beth, 28, to return with him to the MAFS reunion for a “couple swap”. In the end though, she turned him down. Could it be because she and Teejay, 28, manage to turn things around? We hope so!

Awhina and Adrian

Like with Jamie and Dave, fans were left gobsmacked when Awhina Rutene and Adrian Araouzou’s marriage took a drastic turn halfway through the experiment. They went from fighting to fawning in just one week!

However, things might have taken yet another twist on this romantic rollercoaster. Our spy tells us things get even more “messy and confusing” in the final week. “Both agree to attend final vows, but it’s in no way smooth sailing,” our source adds of the pair.

The news comes after people spotted Awhina, 30, out on a date with groom Billy last month. Meanwhile, Adrian, 30, has hinted on social media that he was utterly smitten with his back-up match Maxine Paine.

The final episode of Married At First Sight Australia screens 7pm Monday on Three and streams on ThreeNow.
