As part of the famous Kardashian family, Kylie Jenner lives a lifestyle many would be envious of – but in a new interview with InStyle, she revealed she’s been paying for many of the perks out of her own wallet.
“My mom cut me off financially three years ago. So I pay for everything – my car, my gas and food as well as my clothes,” she told the magazine.
Before you get too worried about the reality star’s finances, however, a source close to the family has clarified Kylie isn’t completely on her own.
“Kris has taught all the girls that if they want something, they have to work for it,” the source told E! News.
“Kris made sure she paid for Kylie’s car, for medical, for housing, for food, for vacations. All the usual stuff,” the source continued, adding that Kylie is only expected to cover ‘extras’, such as new clothes.
In any case, Kylie’s able to afford a lot more than a regular teenager. As well as her Keeping Up With The Kardashians salary, she also has numerous endorsement deals for clothing, beauty and haircare products. That may explain why the 17-year-old drives a pricey Mercedes SUV and was able to buy her own US$2.5 million house in February.
